Beyond Fear -- One Inmate's Story About HIV
Written especially to motivate inmates to avoid behaviors that put them at risk of HIV infection. A young inmate tells the story of how he broke free from the fear he felt after learning he was HIV-positive. He chooses to follow a healthy lifestyle to prolong his life, and advocates the same for other HIV-positive inmates. He also urges readers to protect themselves now and when they're on the outside. Note: Prior to publication, this booklet was reviewed by a focus group of inmates. The group's evaluation of the authenticity of dialogue, characters, and story line--as well as the booklet's readability--was taken into account when the final version was written. 16 pages, 5 1/2" x 8"
